CSPI's comments on the USDA's Request for Information (RFI)

The Center for Science in the Public Interest submits these comments in response to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Request for Information: Grain-Based Desserts and High-Protein Yogurt Crediting in Child Nutrition Programs. CSPI has worked since 1971 to improve the public’s health through better nutrition and safer food. We are an independent, nonprofit consumer education and advocacy organization and a longstanding advocate for healthier school foods. We convene the National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity, the nation’s largest nutrition advocacy coalition, which successfully advocated for updating the science-based nutrition standards following the passage of the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. CSPI appreciates the USDA’s commitment to supporting school food authorities in aligning meals served with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. View the resource below to keep reading.
