Trump’s proposed cuts to health funding expose fraudulence of MAHA

If it is true that showing your budget shows your values, it’s clear that Donald Trump does not value the health of the American people. In fact, this proposed budget, with its sweeping cuts to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Institutes of Health, exposes the hollow fraudulence of the administration’s Make America Healthy Again sloganeering. 

Through cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs, H.R. 1 is already putting healthy food and health care out of reach for millions, and this cruel and ill-considered proposed budget envisions more of the same.  

Congressional appropriators should reject this budget request and stop this administration’s sabotage of the agencies that keep us healthy.
