Joshua M. Sharfstein, MD, (he/him), is a pediatrician and former principal deputy commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, health commissioner of Baltimore City, and health secretary of Maryland. Sharfstein is also an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and a faculty member of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
